Blechschmidt Collection Embryo
Image of Blechschmidt Collection sample embryo (19.6.47) sagittal serial section slides No. 11 to 37.
Each embryo slide box set includes a catalogue slide (lower righthand corner) providing:
- date - 19.6.47 (day.month.year)
- embryo size - 14 mm (CRL, crown rump length)
- description of fixative - Bouin (picric acid, acetic acid and formaldehyde in an aqueous solution)
- mountant - Paraffin (wax embedded)
- section thickness - 10 μ (μ, micrometre, microns, 1x10-6)
- histological stain - decalcified Eosin-Gold orange
- number of slides - 51
