Domenech-Mateu Collection Slide Scanning
Introduction
Slide scanner delivered August, Zeiss technician installed at end of August, and test scanning commenced September 2019.
This page is designed to provide specific technical information for the slide scanner setup for collection scanning.
Image Coding
Embryo image file example: UAB-E25-03-2
- UAB - identifies collection location
- E25 - identifies New Embryo Reference
- 03 - identifies Slide number (note 3 digit coding could be used if more than 100 slides)
- 2 - used only if the slide needs scanning to capture sections in label region (close to slide holder).
Fetus image file example: UAB-F25-003-2
- UAB - identifies collection location
- F25 - identifies New Fetus Reference
- 003 - identifies Slide number (note 3 digit coding as these contain more than 100 slides)
- 2 - used only if the slide needs scanning to capture sections in label region (close to slide holder).
- Sections should be scanned in the correct serial sequence
- This will be "upside down" compared to photocopied slide images.
