	Josep Maria Domenech Mateu (1944 - ) was full professor of human anatomy at the Department of Morphological Sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Born in Valls in 1944, Domenech Mateu is a medical doctor and descendant of John and Giné Partagàs (a sister whose mother was the paternal grandmother, Dolores and Gine Gine). Doctorate received in 1972 with a thesis directed by [[:File:Francisco Orts Llorca.jpg\|Professor Orts Llorca]]. Member of the Institute of Catalan Studies and academic member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia since 1996, when he entered with a speech on Morphogenesis His-Tawara system memory and anatomical fibrous skeleton of the heart. He has received numerous scientific awards, including the National Prize of Cardiology (1981). In 1986 he received the medal Narcís Monturiol and the 1991 international award Emanuel B. Kaplan. In his long career in research published over 150 scientific papers, especially in the field of embryology and anatomy. He brought together human embryology for the Bellaterra Collection. He is a patron of the Chiari Scoliosis Syringomyelia Foundation.
